BASIC INFORMATION
Canon or Original: Canon
Dimension of Origin: Earth – 1610, The Ultimate Universe
Real Name: Miles Anton Morales
Codename: Spider-Man / Ultimate Spider-Man
Nickname(s): Web-Head
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Race: Mutate
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Appearance: Miles Morales is a teenage boy of mixed African and Puerto Rican descent. He inherits many of his parents’ strong characteristics from his mother’s brown eyes and brow line to his father’s jawline and broad shoulders. Miles has a warm dark brown complexion that is rich in an almost cocoa color. His hair is short, dark black and curly, while his eyes are rich brown. Thanks to the mutagenic venom of the spider that bit the boy his physique has grown extremely lean and a super dense musculature. His physique would be regarded as peak conditioning equivalent to most Olympic athletes, and for being so young and standing only 5’8” that is impressive.
The boy is also a mildly handsome teenage specimen with a long rounded face, full lips, and his father’s thick and short nose. The shallow bridge of the nose leads into the sharp brow-line, which is shadowed by bold but contained eyebrows. Miles jaw-line is sturdy and curved into the dip that forms a strong subtly peaked chin. His ears do not stand out and tuck back rather close to the head. Overall his face holds a certain weight to it with plush cheeks, meaning he doesn’t appear gaunt or thin the face, and in contrast has very mild cherubic qualities that could warrant the comments of “cute” or “adorable”.
Special Features: Due to his exposure to the OZ-Formula enhanced spider that bit him, Miles DNA has been rewritten and given him unique qualities practically unattainable for most children his age. It is not immediately noticeable but his physique is enhanced, Miles has become almost double jointed, and far more flexible than he ever has before. But these qualities would not have him sticking out and he has yet to exhibit any Arachnid Physiology that his alternate universe counterparts may have.
Clothing: It isn’t often that Miles would flaunt that sort of physical aptitude preferring to dress in baggy t-shirts, padded vests, and jeans with sneakers. The boy enjoys his color coding between his civilian clothing and his heroic clothing, but has a certain eye bro reds and whites. He goes out of his way in his civilian role to appear as unassuming and as much like a teenager as possible.
Special Clothing: As the Spider-Man of the Ultimate Universe, Miles dresses in a fine fitting black and red body glove. It has an inlay of web patterns and a spider shaped chevron shield on his chest. Most of the suit looks like finely dimpled black latex as it provides traction. The fingers of each hand however are of red coloration. The mask has two way lenses allowing Miles as the Spider-Man to see out while others cannot see in. It is a perfectly concealed outfit keeping his identity protected and body insulated from New York weather.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
Personality: Bright, persistent, and inquisitive: These are words that describe a young Brooklyn born New York boy by the name of Miles Morales. Some would like to call him a genius, but for the boy he has never known how to define himself. Enamored by the world and how it works he is an explorer of facts and details. They are the things that make his life move and how he is able to explain and bring reason to the chaos of the world. In a big way he can thank his father in many ways for the way he deduces problems down to their core. But it has also been how Miles deals with pain and grief. When he became a vigilante the boy embraced a darker face of the world, and he cannot say he has never seen evil especially considering the things he has experienced and lost. In this he is relentless towards the truth, but equally when he is made uncomfortable by the truth Miles tends to build a strong case of denial in his attempt to explain it away.
But as brilliant as Miles can be he is as lost and confused as any other teenager. The truth is he struggles with his identity and defining what he ultimately wishes to do with his life. He knows what is best for himself but he doesn’t know if he wants it. Added with the stress of being both a student and a vigilante crime fighter the lines blur; however, the one thing he does know is that he has a strong need to help people. From the foundation of his mother and father’s loving support growing up to the compassionate words of wisdom from friends he follows a stern rule. “With great power comes great responsibility” and Miles learned from his father that, “Responsibility is not an opportunity but a duty to do good in the world.” So it has become an imperative for Miles to do good when he can, if only to honor those he’s lost.
Where it matters he is soulful and compassionate. As a friend he is as loyal as they come never balking or backing down when they are in need. When it comes to family he is ever fiercer in his need to protect them. It is the one great personal weakness that Miles has ever possessed just as many heroes before him. The people that ground his life and give it sense are the same ones that when in dire threat will make him act. Under the element of extortion at times even make him bow to his knees. But it is this weakness that keeps him level headed, gives him the compassion to relate to others. They are the life force that fills the shape of his heart and for a vigilante such as himself they define the line between Hero and Anti-Hero.
Socially he is pretty much what one would call a nerd or a geek. Hip on pop-culture and up to his eyeballs in the sciences, very little on the discovery or history channel that doesn’t interest him. A fun day to Miles involves comic books, a family size bag of chips, his friends, and a marathon of Star Trek the Next Generation. His favorite flavor of bubblegum is Blueberry Bubblicious, favorite soda is Vanilla Coke, and will only take a New York slice of pizza with olives, mushrooms, and pepperoni. There is never a chance that he doesn’t take to crack wise or make a joke to dissolve social tension. Among those he cares about he is light-hearted, but behind the mask he is every energetic projection he ever wished he was, that is what he becomes.
In truth the Spider-Man is the man Miles wishes he could be: Strong, Confident, and Fearless; instead of being the self-conscious teenager who lacks direction in his life. When he looks into the mirror he doesn’t see the hero. There have been a lot of things he wished he’d done different and while he sways in doubt of his self-image, both Miles and the Spider-Man are strong willful personalities. They are the same person and will do their best for others often at the expense of themselves. And that is one thing his friends and family would be proud of if they only knew the truth.
Skills:
- Genius Intellect: Miles Morales possesses a legitimate 165 IQ similar to such minds as Stephen Hawkings. His gifted intelligence had placed him in the top percentile of the human population. Miles intuitive and three dimensional thinking open him up to a variety of scientific subjects, and translate that knowledge into creative problem solving. Since the spider-bite it is believe his intelligence may exceed the 200 IQ score like many of his alternate universe counterparts, but this has yet to be truly tested. There is a notable increase in his cognitive skills which is known.
- Bio-Chemistry: After his encounter with the mutated spider that gave him his abilities, Miles invested time in effort in the study of Bio-chemistry. This is studied to understand mutations as well how to apply the science to inventions, as well the upkeep of his web-shooters, involving a complex nylon based polymer.
- Physics/Quantum Physics: In school Miles’ natural predilection to crunch numbers and explore the world he naturally gravitates to physics. Understanding the function of the world around him is the most interesting thing to Miles. One thing he does hope to aspire to get his degree in Quantum Physics at California’s Institute of Technology.
- Criminology: As a vigilante Miles’ took to the study of criminal psychology and their methods. Especially after the death of his father it became obsessed with the habits and mind frame of criminals. His father was also an NYPD officer a major influence in Miles interest in the subject.
- Hand-to-Hand Combat: An instinctive combatant at his rawest form and can be spontaneous in motion making his form of combat difficult to predict. Over his time as a vigilante Miles’ has also received a limited from of training in Boxing, Judo, Hapkido, and Capoeira through mix of independent study and formal instruction.
- Indomitable Will: It wasn’t until he embraced the life of a superhero that Miles’ found he had an incredible willpower. In his time he has experienced many things that tested his resolve. His body has been broken and his mind tortured, but he has naturally resilient and willful much like those who showed him the ropes. It is a testament to his heart that when pushed to task Miles’ will not back down. He credits this to his parents influence on him.
- Deductive Reasoning: Combined with his intelligence and study in Criminology Miles’ has been practiced in picking apart problems and crime scenes. Deductive reasoning allows him the intuition to pin point small detail, but in the short term to calculate and juggle multiple factors in a stressful environment. Not defined as the popular Eureka moment as some might suspect Miles’ deduction comes from the work of following patterns and causalities.
- Bi-Lingual: Miles being of mixed cultural heritage he is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Weapons / Gear (if any):
- Web-Shooters: Not an original design by Miles’ he took what he learned from his predecessor about webbing and expanded upon it. His shooters made of light steel are concealable bracelets that magnetically hook onto the wrists of his suit blending with the patterns. On a revolving bind mechanical about nine tab cartridges that can produce expansive compressed threads of the nylon based polymer. The only digital modification is a red L.E.D. that lets him know if he is almost out of web fluid in a cartridge and when he needs to change them. A pressure needle punctures brass caps that connect the cartridges to the release nozzle that can emit over 300 psi of pressure, and can shoot webbing 60 feet (farther if a ballistic parabolic arc). The web line's tensile strength is about 120 pounds per square millimeter of cross section. With control between pressure and web mixtures Miles’ can create complex webbing structures, parachutes, barriers, and other varying styles. Within an hour the normal web mixture will dissolve into a white powdery dust.
------------------------
With his normal web mixture Miles’ has different web fluid compounds for varying circumstances. These were designed out of necessity and utility for the various troubles he finds himself in.
--- Impact Webbing: A common alteration of the initially Nylon compound to produce harder and more forceful web blasts that do not stick. Usually Impact webs are released at higher pressures and hits like bean bag round from a shotgun.
--- Smart Foam Webbing: Unlike the Impact webbing the adhesion of this mixture is amplified with a composition that caused the fluid to expand as a thick foam upon kinetic impact. The expansion is rapid along with the spongy shell it solidifies into which makes it good for disabling and even protecting individuals from danger. This webbing was designed by Miles to create less harmful surfaces and forms of containment on civilians and criminals. He specifically designed it to create a cushion for those falling so that the impact forces wouldn’t kill them. - Spider Suit: Miles wears a black body glove outlined with red webbing patterns, chest chevron/spider-shield, and details. His mask’s eyes are made out of a plastic that imitates a two way mirror allowing him to see perfectly out of them, but no one to see his eyes. The material the suit is made of is a durable substance called Unstable Molecules that allow it to mend itself over time as well be ultimately resistant to fire and heat. Miles’ Spider-Man suit insulates him from some moderate temperature extremes as well being waterproof acting as a wet-suit.
Alignment: Hero
SPECIAL ABILITIES
Powers:
SPIDER PHYSIOLOGY
A result of the mutagenic venom of a spider mutated by a new version of the Super-Soldier Serum (the OZ Formula) and exposed irradiated isotopes. This spider bite led to a process of amplification tapping into the recessive mutant DNA chains in his blood, and introducing a foreign species into Miles’ genetic sequence. The rapid alteration of Miles’ body enhanced his physiology to drastic superhuman levels. Being introduced before puberty peak his abilities and strengths will grow in time to the proportionate powers of a spider of his size and build. His musculature has also become many times denser than normal humans giving him greater strength, durability, and resilience to impact forces.
- Superhuman Strength: Miles’ enhanced physiology grants him a current strength level of five tons. It is enough strength to press most common cars and vehicles (save for heavy transports) with raw strength over his head. As well this strength expands to his legs allowing him to leap several stories vertically in a single bound (rough 30ft.) and make almost double that length horizontally at a running pace. But his strength is also enough that he must practice restraint and pull back his punches unless fighting other superhuman with significant strength and durability.
- Superhuman Speed: When pushed to the limits on foot Miles’ is greater than any normal human athlete in terms of speed. He is able to run 45 mph at a steady and in burst of a few minutes reach 80 mph, thus allowing him to catch up with most common vehicles on foot. When swinging from web lines utilizing centrifugal force and velocity Miles can reach speeds of 120 mph over long distances, while in a short distance maximizing velocity and gravitational drop speed at a peak of 250 mph allowing him powerful impact speeds.
- Superhuman Stamina: Given the enhanced metabolic process of Miles’ body and superior recuperative qualities he produces far less fatigue toxins than the average man. He can operate at peak capacity for 4 hours until the build of fatigue toxins begins to impair his abilities. Miles also has also proven the ability to hold a single breath for about a little over ten minutes.
- Superhuman Durability: The enhanced musculature and skeletal structure of Miles’ gives him a high resistance to extreme impact forces and kinetic blows that would be lethal to normal humans. He can take superhuman blows and fall several stories with very little discomfort, as well being thrown from a skyscraper with no serious injuries; However, Miles’ durability does not extend to bullets and knives which can still pierce his skin with only a little more effort. He is not invulnerable to harm only highly resistant to kinetic impact, which he must roll with punches and strikes to assure that criminals do not break their wrists and hands when hitting him.
- Superhuman Agility: Gifted with a preternatural kinesthesia his equilibrium and coordination are honed to degrees far superior to any human. Instinctually demonstrating a prowess for complicated gymnastic and acrobatic routines, he will never get dizzy out of motion or speed. His body is extremely limber with enhanced tendon strength and elasticity, Miles’ has demonstrated such skill that he can stretch and contort himself to inhuman degrees. As well his balance is such that he can balance himself on almost any object despite it being narrow or small.
- Superhuman Reflexes: Miles’ reflexes are approximately 15 times greater than a normal human allowing him instinctual snap response to danger. Combined with his speed and senses he can dodge a bullet at point-blank, and is such that he moves pre-emptively and intercepts strikes from a normal human being.
- Regenerative Healing Factor: With a heightened metabolic and cellular regeneration rate Miles’ has the benefit of a limited but fortifying healing factor. It is enough to allow him to heal from broken bones, tissue damage, and impaired eyesight in a matter of days. His metabolism grants him a higher resistance to drugs and foreign chemicals allowing him to recover from high dosages of sedatives rapidly. As well it allows him to survive lethal doses of toxins, poisons, and diseases. Though this does not make him immune to diseases.
SPIDER ABILITIES
Along with the proportionate physiological strengths of a spider Miles’ Morales also possesses the external and extrasensory abilities of a spider. Like any mutation these abilities have strengthened and developed over time allowing him to sense danger, adhere to walls, blend into surroundings, and stun enemies with a strike. When it comes down to it should he seek it Miles’ can be quite a lethal foe.
- Wall Crawling:Miles’ mutation resulted in a cerebellum-wide alteration of his engrams resulting in the ability to atomically adhere to surfaces at will through way of electrostatic force. The force is such that he can adhere up to several tons of force/weight per finger and is a common way he keeps his mask from slipping from his face. The ability to adhere to any surface also gives him a powerful and difficult to break grip to surfaces from any part of his body.
- Spider Sense: An intuitive ability that allows Miles’ to sense actions, events, objects, and people he defines as dangerous or a threat. It is almost clairvoyant in nature emerging almost as tingle in the brain or flash sense of directional revelation. This spider sense grants him a pre-emptive awareness to his environment allowing him to casually gauge threats moments before they actually come to contact with him, but more often this sense comes into play when Miles’ is in immediate danger, or in conflict, which the sense can set off warnings at a hundredth of a second (enough for his reflexes to react). Miles’ spider sense and other abilities tune into an intuitive and spontaneous form of hyper kinetic combat, and he relies on this ability for the upper limits of effectiveness in a fight. If he does not view something as a threat his sense will not go off, like wise it has difficulty sensing other “Spider” affiliated Mutates like himself, as well fatigue can deteriorate the precision of the sense. As an added benefit through his spider sense Miles’ can track certain forms of radio frequencies.
- Venom Strike: A power that is often seen as unique to Miles with a touch he can reversing the electrostatic charge between atomic bonds. This repulsion sends an immediate shock to the nervous system causing a form of momentary paralysis on victims (that have no resistance to such attacks), as if they were stung with venom. It seems that there are varying degrees to this ability as some opponents have been simply dazed where others have been completely incapacitated, likely gauged by the person’s tolerance and his own focus. It is relatively painless and allows Miles’ to end conflicts without much collateral damage. This charge has been shown to be transferred through other objects which most commonly is his own webbing, with that he creates a tazing effect.
- Spider-Camouflage: By through some process likely related to the way Miles’ atomically adheres to surfaces, he can affect the ambient electrons in his environment to bent photons around his body and clothing. This produces an affect similar to invisibility but is more of a highly affective camouflage as quick movements will give it away. There also seems to be some minimal stress of focus required to utilize this ability to its fullest, and will only be maintained as long as that concentration is maintained.

Not defined as the popular Eureka moment as some might suspect Miles’ deduction comes from the work of following patterns and causalities.
- Bi-Lingual: Miles being of mixed cultural heritage he is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Strengths:
- Instinctive Combatant: Through the combination of his powers and experience Miles possesses a reactive muscle memory. In many conflict where he is forced to fight he works what one would equate to an Auto-Pilot or Cruise Control, as his body does most of the work, which allows him the room to think and passively keep harm at bay. This has made him a very unpredictable opponent as well quite inventive (while not to the same degree of his alternate-universe counterparts at this point). It is believed with experience and growth that Miles will come to rival many of his superhuman peers in a fight by mere fact of his prodigious biology.
- Scientific & Mathematic Invention: Many of the kids incredible feats can be linked to his mind and his very in-depth understanding of the sciences. Taking what he understands of chemistry, physics, and any other branch of science he has chosen to invest in, Miles Morales, is able to invent with some manner of expediency solutions to complex problems. Down to his core he is a critical thinker and will be able to bring to the team innovation to pre-existing designs as well new tools counter threats.
- Enhanced Comprehension: As a byproduct of his enhanced reflexes and agility Miles ability to read, understand, and retain information is at a superhuman peak. Meaning he can run through text books of mathematics and sciences in an hour or two and retain most that information. This also gives him an intuition when approaching crime scenes or obstacles that need immediate response. Miles attention is so precisely focused that he is able to notice certain defects, abnormalities, or clues without the aid of special equipment. Though this is limited by his senses no matter how refined they may be, they are still human.
- Stealth & Reconnaissance: Super powers do not quite translate to invulnerability and to that point it goes double for Miles. His physical condition has its limits and he must routinely rely on his camouflage ability and sticking to the shadows. Best way to win a fight is sometimes to never engage in one, and the boy is one to follow the philosophy knowing when to pick your fights. Because of this Miles has an acuity and talent for hiding and disappearing when he needs to.
Weaknesses:
- Spider-Sense Disruption: A powerful ability to which Miles’ has adapted as a vital sense, but it is not full proof and can be inhibited by mitigating factors. Great stress or fatigue can impair the accuracy or block it while drugs can drastically dull the ability right out. Without his sense or its accuracy his overall speed of attack and reaction will drastically decrease. As well Miles’ concentration may be hampered by having to divide up his focus on things he would otherwise task to his instinctual awareness. Similarly his sense will not go off if he does not register or think of something as a threat. There is also an inability to gain a sense against other “Spider-Men” whose process or powers are similar to him, they are a blind spot to his danger sense.
- Ethyl Chloride: A chemical involved in common pesticides while it will not kill Miles it will greatly impair and disorient him. If blasted with Ethyl Chloride he can be made violently sick as well dampen his strength and external senses. It has been a chemical used against him many times in the past by his enemies. Used effectively this chemical can cripple Miles’ when taken by surprise or forced into exposure.
- Mortality: Despite all of his abilities and enhanced physiology Miles Morales is but a human vulnerable to bullets, knives, diseases, and poisons (even if it takes a bit more to put him down). Ultimately he is vulnerable to the world and only has a limited set of resistances. Miles must rely on wit and his reflexes to avoid danger every time he steps into the costume.
- Youth/Experience/Emotions: Despite having been acting as a vigilante for over three years and a relative genius Miles’ is still a teenager. This means he is still learning the ropes when it comes to life as well understanding how the world works. In fact one of his biggest flaws is that he is prone to making mistakes. Human Error may come off as bad luck, but in the end Miles’ might overthink or under think a matter, then pursue a flawed course of action. Similarly it is easy to use his emotions against him by threatening those he cares about or attempting to expose a deep secret. He is a human and is as vulnerable to extortion as anyone else.
CHARACTER BACKGROUND
History:
In another universe, on another earth there was a boy that would one day become a part of a heroic legacy. Miles Morales was the son of an NYPD Officer Jefferson Davis and his Wife a Brooklyn Elementary School Teacher Rios Morales. His home life was very supportive with a strong emphasis on his education. As a child he was incredibly bright and incredibly talented, but his family never had the steady income to put him into a private school or specialty school. That was why when they applied for the Brooklyn Visions Academy and were entered into a Charter Lottery they were overjoyed by Miles’ entrance.
Before that Miles was in a tutor/mentor program for the gifted, his mentor was a Queens native and his online sessions with his mentor grounded much of his directions when he was accepted into the Visions academy. Through the Mentoring program the boy took to bio-chem and physics courses, and in the Academy he met Ganke Lee his best friend.
But the defining moment in his life was the evening with his uncle Aaron Davis. Unknown to Miles his uncle was a career criminal and had broken into the building of one of the world’s premier cross genetic labs, the OZ Tower in Long Island. When there attempting to steal a genetic resequencer for an anonymous buyer a mutated spider stowed away in his bag. As fate would have it that same spider would bite the newly turned thirteen year-old. The venom that would course through his veins would begin to mutate him and give him fantastic powers. It was not too soon after that the world would learn of the tragic fate of Spider-Man who was murdered by his long standing nemesis Norman Osborne, or now the Green Goblin. Miles was hit significantly with surprise that the identity of the masked hero was no other than Peter Parker, his former tutor.
Though initially Miles did not take to vigilantism knowing how his father felt about masked vigilantes and mutants. But his secret wouldn’t stay much of a secret for long when his friend Ganke saw him crawl on a walls. Both idolized Spider-Man a fascination that wasn’t shared by their parents. With Ganke’s help they realized that Miles and Spider-Man demonstrated the same kinds of abilities, meaning he was not a mutant, but that whatever was in that spider’s venom had changed him, and that both mutates shared a similar origin. This cast a very dark shadow on Miles in the aftermath of Peter’s death.
With Ganke’s insistence Miles reluctantly took up the mask and jumped on to the scene saving an elderly couple from muggers. Wearing a faux imitation of the Spider-Man uniform the boy eventually caught the attention of real heroes, and after a frantic chase they came to terms (captured). His DNA was being studied and the heroes came to the same conclusion that Miles and his friend Ganke did, both Peter and him shared an origin. Aboard the Triskelion ONE the home base of S.H.I.E.L.D a super powered criminal awoke from a coma and began causing devastation, and Miles actions proved crucial to the victory of the heroes.
Approached by the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and his agents Miles was given perspective on Spider-Man’s legacy and Peter’s sacrifice. This related to the young man as Nick Fury posed some confidence that he could do some justice towards that legacy as the Spider-Man. There was reluctance as the boy did not think himself ready to take on the hardships of being hero. However friends of Spider-Man came to him illuminating his doubt, as well S.H.I.E.L.D. whom sought to induct Miles as they had Peter. This was an offer to help S.H.I.E.L.D. in its goal to maintain the safety of those unaware. Stepping into the new suit Miles Morales became the second person to own the mantle of Spider-Man. Unsure of himself the boy would take his destiny and begin a new life as a vigilante, all the while attempting to hide it from his parents.
He spent approximately over two years in the costume and faced many of Spider-Man’s renowned villains, even some of his own; however, he also sacrificed much in the process of saving others. Miles lost friends and gained new ones, but through it all Ganke always remained at his side. But the most impacting of the sacrifices would be the death of his mother during a chaotic conflict with the black symbiote Venom by rogue police fire. That tragedy left him emotionally scarred taking the blame for her death, as well the injuries his father sustained left him lame requiring a cane to move. His father would leave the police force soon after and Miles in response returned to the academy abandoning the vigilante life.
And that is when the world changed and a new cataclysm was born. With the collapse of dimensional walls there were new dangers, but at the same there were new heroes. In the year that passes Miles finds himself in the employ of S.H.I.E.L.D. to help investigate the sudden change. With his father's recovery he would also find himself taking back the mantle of Spider-Man (or as some have designated him the Ultimate Spider-Man), and working with others to form a coalition of heroes between the divisions to help maintain order in the fractured space of New York.
RP Sample:
Walls and corridors of steel and concrete folded in the walls of the Brooklyn where reflective towers strutted in mirroring windows reflect the iridescent overcast of city lights. Between them darted like a shadow the form of a young man, contoured in red mesh webbing and black material. Thwipping sounds resound above traffic as spinning tendrils of webbing decorate surfaces as a boy reaches out one hand after another. It is a hypnotic and reflexive motion with every flawless catch as the white threads disperse from his wrists. A single body bowed and flexed in every swing banking around corners, through underpasses, and above alcoves. The young hero navigated the city with navigators finesse.
This was home to the young man. And Miles peered through the wide lenses of his black mask he ruminated at how far he had come. He was both feet into the next generation of superheroes and just before the world collapsed, after the quantum fields dividing realities shattered, the heroic group known as the Ultimates were eyeing him for potential inclusion. It helped that there were those in S.H.I.E.L.D. namely Fury who had a vote of confidence in the young man. And he couldn’t help but to think on Peter Parker. Would he be proud with all he had done? There were many victories in his journey, yet Miles couldn’t help but feel he was still letting people down. In all this chaos so much changed so fast and he felt he should have done more.
It was times like these that he wished he had an Aunt May for wise advice. His father would practically crucify him if he knew what he had been doing. How did Peter ever do this? When the world seemed to collapse every other weekend the Spider-Man and his allies they always had a plan. They always seemed to save the day. For Miles every day even within just about three years of experience was just him catching up to everyone else. It didn’t deter him though. Instead for the young man put his best effort forward looking for a solution to this mess.
Sprawled against the flat side of an apartment complex the successor to the mantle of Spider-Man, Miles Morales, coiled his fingertips against the dank moss ridden bricks in descent. Crawling his way down the boy snapped out of the question and worry. Sometimes in order to solve a big problem you have to take of the ones right before your eyes.
A bunch of goons that looked like they came right out of a cyberpunk novel covered in blinking studs, with high-tech vanity visors, with an assortment of gadgetry, and horribly fashioned fluorescent colored hair that looked to have had a wayward experience with a weed whacker. Yeesh these guys sure looked like something, he thought. What were the odds this was just a group of ravers or some weird convention goers?
Shifting the wall letting his camouflage wraps around his body the web-slinging hero descends further, and with a startling snap of his senses several of the young futuristic goons draw out what looked like energized pistols.
Having his answer Miles sighed thinking ’Of course. It is always a criminal.’ And from the look of it he guessed they were not even from this world which was never a good sign. The boy couldn’t even count how many times inter-dimensional encounters ended up going sour. There was very little rhyme or reason and he watched other heroes from his world struggle along. Some were from a futuristic parallel, and others? Well many seemed from the normal. But there was that one time he spotted a pterodactyl flying over central park. That was just out there.
Silently dropping to his feet the boy blended with the shadows and skulked towards them. Up close he counted a round number of eight individuals some women, but most were lanky malnourished looking men. Rising to his full height the young man tugged on his mask and adjusted his webshooters offhandedly quipping, ”So I assume you guys do realize those are illegal, and you are in violation of the boundary lines?” Looking up from his hands the masked Spider-Man catches a glimpse of the suddenly startled goons, their faces stretched in gawking bewilderment as they shuffled for their various arms. Yep, they were definitely bad guys. ”Oh come on, I don’t suppose we could talk this out or anything… right?” The air cracked with loud hissing jolts of energy that scorched and steamed the concrete where the Spider-Man once stood.
Airborne Miles had leaped over their heads catching a fire exit railing. With a free hand several splitting strands of web cascaded out tangling up three of his attackers guns. Firmly yanking they are disarmed as the weapons are safely entangled and stuck to an upper wall out of reach. ”Really?” He asks almost surprised at them all before lunging down in between them. With lightning reflexes the Spider-Man lightly presses his palms against five individuals chest, each touch releasing an electro-static burst that would take 4-5 seconds to approximately overload their nervous system and drop them. Having halted in a crouching stance with arms splayed theatrically the kid waited as the affected goons went limp onto the ground in a domino effect.
Standing up again slowly with a hand on his hip he catches a woman and her two dumbfounded friends staring at him wide-eyed. Only one of them had that nifty energy pistol. Miles looked at the man directly and informed him with a veiled threat, ”If you make me chase you, you will not like it.” With shaking hand the man attempted to lift his weapon but the Spider-Man couldn’t help but sigh rolling his eyes. ”Let’s not there shake n’ bake.” He asserted snapping up his right wrist his fingers coiled on the pressure plate and ejected webbing that thwipped and catches the pistol tearing it away.
”Now please don’t run. I just have a few que-” The Spider-Man started lifting up his black gloved hands trying to emphasize his compromise. But they had other ideas as they looked to one another and all came to the same conclusion, they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Taking to run aggravation brewed causing him to exclaim, ”WHAT DID I JUST SAY?!” Picking up his pace the boy bolted forward then leapt towards a wall, his feet bound in his race, both hands extended firing three separate strands of web catching each goon at their heels, and then he jumped to another fire escape and spun up those crazy kids.
Everyone accounted for he went back to tend to the ones knocked out making sure to the bind them up for the local law enforcement, then promptly gathered all those dangerous energy weapons. Seriously who just gave kids these sorts of toys? Slowly dropping himself on a web-line to look his previously tied up prey in the eyes. He was about to find out. ”So which one of you wants to tell me where you got these things?” Miles asked then a small smirk formed under his mask as he added, ”I promise cookies and milk!”
Sometimes, just sometimes it was the simple things that made him happy. And he if couldn’t fix the world today, the web-head would do what he did best, and what he did best was protect his city. He would protect the people from those who would seek to take advantage of them.
